2modes: speak and sing

  • Public-speaking anxiety, also known as glossophobia, can cause a racing heart, shortness of breath and even panic.
  • People overcome it by rehearsing in a virtual room first, again and again, until the real one feels familiar.
  • The more you rehearse, the less the room can surprise you.

  • Speak mode: cue cards float at eye-line while you deliver to the back row, for talks, auditions, monologues and stand-up.
  • Sing mode: karaoke instrumentals or your own backing, a crowd that reacts, and a recording of voice and movement to study.
  • One record button, then watch the take back from any seat; a hundred stages from one seat to twenty thousand.

  • Consumer VR spending is flat and headset sales haven't grown.
  • That is why the plan validates the habit in 2-D, on web and mobile, before building for the headset.

  • VirtualSpeech and Ovation are the nearby VR public-speaking trainers.
  • Both are small and private.

  • Concept stage: product definition, stage list and feature set are written.
  • Nothing is built yet; an original MyStage VR site exists.

  • A 2-D practice room on web and mobile: cue cards, recording, playback. The cheapest honest test of whether people come back.
  • A Quest headset build: ten stages, a licensed karaoke library (instrumentals need proper licensing) and a closed beta.
  • The full house: a hundred stages, AI coaching on pace, filler words and eye-line, and a channel for schools and coaches.
